TeamSideline will release the next set of 2013 enhancements this Sunday night, May 12th.
Email Communication Configurations
There are three new email configurations to help you customize the outbound email communications sent from your Site. To use them, go to Communications..Configurations..Email:
- You can choose if you want to have a Banner image in emails. If you choose not to, just click the Remove link on the Banner Image field.
- You can turn off the text in emails that says “This is a communication from” by selecting “No” on the Show Comm From Text dropdown.
- You can turn off the text in emails that says “To go to {your organization name} now, click here.” by selecting “No” on the Show Organization Link dropdown.
Player Profile Images
For player registration customers, you will now be able to have parents upload a photograph image file of their child’s player into the Player Profile. To turn this on, go to Customers..Configurations..General , select “Yes” on the Edit After Enrollment dropdown and change the Profile Image dropdown to “Public”. Once the function is enabled, a parent can log into their account on your Site, click the pencil icon to modify their child’s record, and upload an image file.
Scheduling Auto Resolve For Team Conflicts (Beta)
A new Auto Resolve feature automatically resolves Team scheduling conflicts for one game per team per week schedules. When you are on the 4 Create Schedule page, with a click of the Auto Resolve button you can have the system make adjustments automatically based on the Team Schedule Conflicts added on the 2 Teams page. Please note this is an initial “Beta” version so we can get customer feedback and the Auto Resolve button is only available on Sites with the Premium upgrade. Forfeit Tracking
If you ever want to show the number of forfeits for a particular division in the Standings, now you can. Just create a Custom Standings table and check the Forfeits checkbox along with any other columns you want to show. Add this Custom Standings table to your division (within your schedule, go to 1 Configuration..Display and update the Standings Layout dropdown) and now forfeits will be visible for anyone visiting your division’s Standings page.
Indoor Soccer
“Indoor Soccer” divisions now use points (instead of Games Back) for standings calculations, just like “Soccer” divisions do today.
TeamSideline Invoice Payment
After this Release, if you would like to pay your TeamSideline Invoice by credit card, you can now go to the Adminstration..Subscription page and click the Pay Invoice button. Type in your Invoice Number, Amount, Billing Information, Payment Information, and click Submit. Easy and quick!
Web Mail and Mail Admin
Our mail server is being upgraded with a new software release that includes enhancements that refresh the Web Mail user interface. During the upgrade, we will be performing email maintenance so email services will be temporarily unavailable during the release downtime period.
Improved eMail Delivery
Firewalls and other security measures can block your emails from being received by whoever you send them to. After this Release, the deliverability of email communications sent from your TeamSideline Site will be substantially upgraded. This means the percentage of emails that arrive at their destination will be better than ever. One of the ways this is achieved is by using a new dedicated IP address that you can add to your Whitelist. (Click here for the dedicated IPs addresses.) The upgraded email architecture has an expense to TeamSideline that is based on the number of emails sent. As a result, there are limits for the number of communications that can be sent from a TeamSideline Site depending on the type of Site you have. You can click here for the communication limits for different types of TeamSideline Sites. In case you are wondering, the limits are very high – for example, Standard Sites can still send out up to 40,000 email communications per year – Sites with the Premium upgrade up to 100,000. Admin Site Map
You will notice a change to your Admin Site Map – we have modified the page to display four columns instead of three to help minimize the need for you to scroll down the page so often.
Tournament Module
In the TeamSideline Tournament Module, we now offer Single Elimination No Consolation brackets for up to 32 teams. Email bruce@teamsideline.com if you are interested in learning more about the Tournament Module upgrade.
Little League Data Center
Our Little League customers will at some point be prompted by the National Little League Baseball (LLB) organization to send information to the Little League Data Center. The file to send to LLB has been updated to match their 2013 requirements. If you would like more information about the process, please review this article.
Scheduling and Team Sites
Communication between Schedules created in your League Site and Team Sites continues to get more robust – Team Sites will now be automatically updated with crossover game information (games between divisions). In addition, game scores will automatically be updated if you choose to use the Auto-Coach Scoring solution – for more about Auto-Coach Scoring, please review this article.

League Standings
Now you can have a specific league’s standings be visible on a public page on your site instead of on the left-hand sidebar. This flexibility will be handy for closed tournaments and when you want to put all of a League’s information on one page.

Player Registration Reporting
Ever wonder who from your customer base was registered in your program last year but hasn’t signed up this year? There is now a Who’s Not Enrolled Report to easily let you find out this information. You’ll find it under Report Exports.
Integrated Player Registration Cancellations
Life just got easier! When a cancellation request comes in, you can now quickly cancel an enrollment, credit the customer’s account, and remove the player from both their assigned roster and Team Site.

TeamSideline will release the first set of 2013 enhancements this Saturday night, February 2nd.
QR Code
Huh??? What’s a QR Code? It’s a Quick Response Code that is a type of two dimensional barcode. You’ve probably seen these strange looking codes on posters, products, etc and may have even used your smartphone QR Reader to check it out. TeamSideline now has this available on each schedule. If your schedule is printed and posted, your customers can quickly read the code using their phone and get to a phone friendly schedule to see updates, scores, standings, and any adjustments.
Image Rotators
Image Rotators are now available to add to content pages! First, setup the Image Rotator how you want it to look and what pictures you want to use on the Image Rotator page. Next, go to Page Edit page and look for the new Image Rotators dropdown to select what you want to use.
We have also enabled a Carousel Image Rotator – perfect to rotate pictures of players or teams – or sponsors!
Scheduling
Now you will have maximum flexibility to make edits on schedules. On the Create Schedule page, you can go to an Open Edit page which will enable you to make time and location adjustments quickly – even if you don’t have a time or location defined on the Time Slots page. Since the time and location are separate dropdowns, you can change a game quickly to any time at any location.
Premium Sites will have an Advanced Time Slot Add process that will make creating your time slots much faster. The feature includes the ability to add more than one day and more than one location in a single add process. Tournament Module
In the TeamSideline Tournament Module, you can now auto-populate your teams into the appropriate brackets based on the Pool Play standings. And we now have 3 Game Guarantee (3GG) brackets available for up to 24 teams. Email bruce@teamsideline.com if you are interested in learning more about the Tournament Module upgrade.
Registration
A new registration report will be available to show parents who have not completed the registration process because they created an account in TeamSideline but did not enroll their child yet. Now you’ll be able to contact them directly and see if they have any questions or need additional information/help.
Want to have more than one person receive the cc’d on Order Confirmation emails? You can easily input multiple addresses to have more than one person receive Administrator copies of Order Confirmation emails.
Volunteers
Sometimes volunteers signup for the wrong role or want to change from being the coach to being the assistant coach. You can now easily change this through the Edit Enrollment page under Account Management. Just change the role using the dropdown provided.
Team Registration
Are your customers interested in seeing what teams are already signed up for your program? You can easily let them see the teams that are already registered before they signup. Once you enable this on the Program Setup page, your customers can click on a program’s More Information button to see a full listing.
Security
To help prevent spam, we’ve add a visual verification to the Contact Us page. Anyone who wants to send you a question will need to type in the numbers or letters they see in the image displayed before they can submit their question to you.
Privacy Policy
The Privacy Policy link at the bottom of every page can be updated to use something other than TeamSideline’s default text. Feel free to add your own information about your organization’s privacy policy.

Playoff Scheduling
Playoff Scheduling just got both easier and faster! — we’ve added the “Edit” function directly to each game row on the “Create Schedule” page for Playoffs. Simply click the Chevron icon and select Edit to quickly change a playoff game to any week, day, time or location.
Scheduling Templates
Here’s the scenario: You have a schedule that is just perfect but you’ve had to make some changes to get it to be just the way you like it. Now if only you could easily re-create this schedule each Season – and now you can. Simply create your own Schedule Template so you can apply the template to any future division. This feature will be available in any Site that has the Premium upgrade. Email bruce@teamsideline.com if you are interested in upgrading.
Advanced Scheduling Team Names
Advanced Scheduling Sites will now have the option of hiding the Associated Organization “Short Name” on the Standings page – so you can just see the team names instead of always both the organization and team name. Just go to the Display configurations for your division and you can adjust the setting as you like.
Team Registration
Using the TeamSideline Team Registration module? After this Saturday you can choose to have the module automatically assign Teams into Divisions during the Registration process. The Divisions will be created at the same time you create your Offerings and when a team registers, they are automatically assigned into the Divisions based on the Offerings they register for. If you need to reassign a Team, simply delete them to reassign them to a new Division from the Assign Teams page.
Registration Credit Card Payment Plan
How about a payment plan for your registration customers? Set the amount and how many months they have to pay. Then monthly payments will be charged to the configured credit card on file for each customer. If you are interested in having this option offered to your registration members, please let us know.
Registration Add-On Missing Report
Tired of trying to track who hasn’t purchased an Add-On to your registration program? Now you can run the new Add-On Missing report under the Report Exports and throw away that Excel spreadsheet you were using before.
Un-archive a Registration Program
Oops! You archived a Registration Program and now you want to get to that Program so you can make a few tweaks and use it and the associated Leagues and Divisions again. Now you can — by just going to the Archive Programs page and clicking the un-archive button.
Registration Customer Search
The Customer Search has been enhanced so that you can expand the resulting list that is returned to you. You will now be able to see additional customer names that approximately match the information you’ve typed in. Just click on the checkbox on the Customer Search page to enable this option.
Links for Content Tables
TeamSideline enables you to easily create tables on the custom content pages you create in your Site. (See Content > Content Tables) Now, you will be able to enter web addresses or links in the Content Tables you create. Just create the new Link column and populate it with links to other sites or even links to your own site.

November 17th Enhancements Notification
TeamSideline will release the next set of 2012 enhancements this Saturday night, November 17th. The Release represents our continuing goal to improve TeamSideline and respond to your feedback.
Password Policy
We are updating the Site password policy and adding a password strength checker to make sure your data is as safe and secure as it can be. Following are the new rules you need to follow for your password:
- Must contain one alpha character.
- Must contain one numeric character.
- Symbols allowed, but not required.
- Minimum 6 characters.
Registration Admin Credit Card Refunds
Registration Sites — you’ve been waiting for it and now it’s here! If your customers make a credit card purchase, you will be able to easily refund their purchase back on their credit card using a Site Admin function.
Registration Admin Payments
Here’s the scenario: You’re placing an order for your customer and they want to pay with both cash and credit card. Or you have teams signing up for a League with multiple checks from players to pay the League fee. Now on the Checkout page you will be able to enter multiple payments for one order. We’ve also improved the reconciliation process of the registration transactions to make it easier and more intuitive for you.
Registration Open Edit Functionality
Many of you using Player Registration Sites have asked for the ability to edit registration data for multiple players on one page. With this release you will be able to – and even customize the open edit page to show which data you want to edit.
Playoff Games
Your feedback has been that you would prefer Playoff or Tournament games to be displayed with the Game Number instead of the Game Number within a specific Round. So we’ve made the Game Number the default when a Playoff or Tournament schedule is created. You can always override this by setting your specific sport default to Round & Game if that is your preference.
Preferred Locations
Advanced Schedule Sites will be able to assign more than one Preferred Location for any of your teams and arrange them in the order you want them assigned. This functionality will be useful when you want to give your teams a specific priority of home fields they can play at depending on the location availability.
Right-hand Sidebar Enhancements
The right-hand sidebar is getting better and better! Now you will be able to show upcoming calendar items so your membership can easily see them and be more aware of your organization’s important events.

October 20th Enhancements Notification
Following are highlights of some of the enhancements you will see in the TeamSideline Release of System Enhancements this Saturday night, October 20th.
Promotion Codes
The top player registration request has been to enable promotion or “coupon” codes during the registration process. After Saturday night, registration programs can be built to enable a code to be entered during the registration process. If a registrant enters the code, then the registration order will be decreased by the discount that has been pre-defined by Site Administrators or Registrars. This functionality is additive to the existing early bird, regular and late registration fees you can define.
Zip Code Boundary Detection
Another popular request has been to enable Sites to validate that players registering in your organization live within pre-defined zip codes. After this release you will be able to set zip code boundaries for enrollees – and define if you prefer to just warn them or actually prevent them from registering. There will also be a Boundary Check you can enable so anyone coming to your Site can proactively check to see if their zip code is within the defined boundaries of your organization or not. Future enhancements in this area will include adding more visual views and additional configurable options.
Standings Sportsmanship Points
Sites that have purchased the additional Premium Subscription functions will now have the option of tracking Total Sportsmanship and Average Sportsmanship points by Division. It works by enabling you to put in a value for each team on each game for Sportsmanship. The Sportsmanship stats can then be enabled to display the total or average Sportsmanship points for each team in the Division Standings.
Extended Page Width
We are implementing a feature that will enable you to extend, or expand, the width of pages in the Customer sections of all Registration Sites. In future releases, this extended screen mode will be expanded to all Admin areas so we can take advantage of the additional page width space to more easily add new features and additional information for you. In this Saturday’s Release, we are enabling it on a new Order Receipt page – it’s an easy way to view and print a receipt for any registration order. Look for the new icon at the end of each order line on the Account Overview page, click it, and the order receipt will be displayed for you.
You’ll notice lots of other changes too – like the addition of T-Ball and Flag Football to our list of supported sports – which means you can create separate Sport Configuration Defaults for T-Ball versus Baseball or Flag Football versus (Tackle) Football. Another enhancement is enabling registration sites to use the Store functionality anytime, even if you don’t have a Program currently accepting enrollments. Stay tuned.

Following are highlights of some of the changes you will see in the next TeamSideline Release of System Enhancements this Saturday night, September 22nd.
This Saturday night we will bring TeamSideline offline in order to enable changes related to general maintenance and the Beta version of the “Tournament Module Upgrade”.
Please note that the downtime period to enable these enhancements to be implemented will be from 10pm to Midnight (Pacific), Saturday, September 22nd.

August 25th Enhancements Notification
Tonight (Saturday) we will be implementing some particularly popular TeamSideline enhancement requests.
Internal Admin Enrollment Fields – Administrators of Sites with Registration functionality will be able to create “Admin Only” data fields on registrations. These data fields can be used for anything you want – they are completely customizable. For example, you could create a “Registration Status” drop down list data field so you can mark a registration as “pending” or “accepted” or “declined”. It is both a powerful tool and easy to use.
PDF Order Receipt – When a registration has been received either online or offline (offline would be from a ‘walk in’ or ‘mail in’ registration process), Administrators will be able to print and/or email a PDF receipt of the registration order. The receipt can be used internally or given to the registrant.
League Ordering – On the Leagues & Divisions page, you have been able to use the “Drag and Drop Dots” to the left of each Division to change the order of Divisions to whatever you want – so that Divisions named by age groups or Divisions named by days of the week, appear in an order that makes sense to the Public. In this release, you will be able to re-order Leagues within a Season. This will be especially useful for larger organizations who name Leagues by age group or day of the week.
